Erskine Chambers does not subscribe to the Bar Council's OLPAS scheme. Accordingly, all applications for pupillage in 2009/10 and deferred pupillage in 2010/11 should be made directly to Chambers. The pupillage application can be downloaded by following one of the links below:
We are seeking ambitious and intellectually able applicants, ordinarily with a first or upper second class degree and preferably some knowledge or experience of company law.
Each year we offer up to two 12 month pupillages, each carrying an award of up to £40,000.
We aim to recruit our new tenants from among our own pupils. As well as gaining experience in the field of company law, pupils can expect a thorough training in the skills necessary for successful practice at the Commercial/Chancery Bar. Throughout their pupillages, pupils may be invited to see the work of other members of Chambers in particularly interesting or high-profile cases.
Applications should be made either by post to The Pupillage Administrator, Erskine Chambers, 33 Chancery Lane, WC2A 1EN or electronically, as an e-mail attachment to pupillage@erskine-chambers.co.uk. For pupillages commencing in 2009/09 or for deferred pupillages 2010/10, applications should ordinarily be made by no later than 30th April 2008.
Mini-pupillages are offered for periods of up to one week. They are generally non-assessed. Ideally, prospective mini-pupils should have some practical experience of business or corporate transactions or have studied (or be studying) company law. However, other candidates are considered. Applications for mini-pupillages should be made by letter to Ben Griffiths and enclose a full CV and the name of one academic referee.
