Profile

Richard specialises in Company Law, Commercial Law, Insolvency and Trusts. He has developed a particular interest in shareholder rights and their exercise. He has given many continuing education lectures and seminars for several leading firms.

After graduating from Cambridge, he qualified and practised as a solicitor with a highly regarded City firm. In October 1993, he returned to Cambridge, becoming a fellow of St John’s College. He is presently Reader in Corporate & Trust Law, Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, and a fellow and director of studies in Law at St. John's College. He has been a consultant to the Law Commission, Company Law Review and the DTI. In his spare time, Richard likes cycling, walking (particularly at home in Yorkshire) and collecting prints.
